What is Passage of Arms?

Passage of Arms Fight Championship takes its name from the medieval “Pas d’Armes,” a grand chivalric tradition in which knights would stake out a bridge, crossroads, or field and issue a formal challenge to all comers. For days, they would meet worthy opponents in combat with sword and lance as a display of skill and courage before spectators.

Born from the same revival that turned ancient fencing manuals into a thriving, full-contact martial art, PoA exists to display the skill and courage of a new generation of swordmasters. While our foundation is grounded in the teachings of the masters of old, our future is forged by the thrill of modern combat sports. We present full fight cards of elite swordfighters, showcasing full-contact bouts fought with real steel weapons and modern protective gear; setting the stage for the finest practitioners in the world to display their mastery of the blade.

This is the public debut of real historical swordsmanship. At PoA events, you won’t just watch fights. You’ll witness living legends clash with longswords, rapiers, sabers, and more in bouts designed for maximum excitement and technical clarity.
